MY STORY

IMG_7043b.JPEG

Hello! My name is Fatma.

I’m a very passionate individual, driven to help others any chance I get. But, I did not always know my way. I found my passion in regards to integrative bodywork therapy in my late twenties. Although, I didn't get the chance to start delving into it right away, it didn’t make me any less enthusiastic about this work, it was a missing puzzle piece that gave me a sense of purpose and inspiration the more I learned about its potential. When I was younger, athletics have always had a major impact on my life. That is why the world of corrective exercise and movement made complete sense to me as an adult and has played a huge role in my physical and personal progress.

I graduated with an English literature degree in 2015, but realized that I was in the wrong field.

Fast forward to my healing journey which began a few years back. I quit my full-time job to follow my dream of becoming a corrective exercise specialist. I traveled to the UK for a year to study and received my PT diploma, followed by many specialized courses in functional movement therapy, delved into manual therapy to fit the missing piece of a whole integrative approach to finding body alignment and educated myself on all matters relating to balance and healthier movement patterns.

I’m very excited to finally take this step even further to make integrative bodywork therapy my full time job. After years of studying, diverting and building skills in different fields of work, I’m very grateful to be able to take this path and build my career through helping people lead pain-free lives.

The body works as a whole, as a collective, each movement is dependent on the other. Through integrative bodywork therapy, I work on the body as a single entity rather than separate, divided or compartmentalize your body into sections. The purpose behind this form of therapy is to understand the source of your pain, it might not be obvious or on the surface, it might be undetectable or not within your reach. That is where I step in. My job is to help you understand the source of your pain and work with you to hop back into alignment. With a more balanced system, less compensations occur, therefore less exaggerated tension and pain.
